   - Analytic is checked by experienced tester to verify the functionality

       and accuracy of the charts and graphs 

   - Early adopters will provide a trial by fire with students in the field.

Schools 

  • The ability to create and grade high quality tests frequently without putting extra demand on teachers and staff is invaluable.
  • Alerts based on analytics when a student shows signs of trouble as well as alerts when a student shows improvements are valuable.
  • Analytics that shows how a student is progressing over time is invaluable,
  • Teachers have limited knowledge of test creation and may not be comfortable reading complex graphs and charts. Text based summaries of analytics is an advantage.
  • Administrators would appreciate the ability to provide teacher effectiveness ratings that are not based on the highly custom tests made by each teacher.
  • The exams must be able to create tests that use images usefull especially for children with low levels of English proficiency. Support for using DALL to create image based tests is priority.

We built a prototype with the features and capabilities outlined blow. These features and capabilities were selected so the prototype would have end-to-end utility and form the foundation of a robust product. 

Learner Takes Exam

  1.  User registers using google 
  2.  User logs in using google or email/ password
  3. User selects their level based on cognitive domains: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, Evaluation  
  4. 10 questions generated on Soroban blockchain and put in queue for the exam. 
  5. User face image is captured using advanced facial recognition that can identify a user from an image or video
  6. AI based exam proctoring. 
  7. AI grades the Learners  answers 
  8. If the Learner passed the exam threshold (usually 80%) issue a digital certificate digitally signed 
  9. User is able to download a tamper evident digital certificate 

User Suggests Learning Material For the Repository 

  1. User upload material they think is useful for our document corpus
  2. The upload document entered an approval workflow that has three states Approved, In Review, and Rejected. 
  3. An admin logs in and is taken to the dashboard that presents analytics (charts & graphs) with a list of recently uploaded material. 
  4. The admin can reject the document with reason or approve the material in which case it is added to the ICanProveIt corpus. 

DID System integrated with Soroban

Fuixlabs has a complete implementation of DID. This system been in production for two years and is used to track land titles, electronic bill of lading in cross boarder paperless trade, products in a supply chain.  This system is now able to use Soroban Blockchain.

The product was presented to users in 4 different categories, (1) Universities, (2) Schools, (3) Textbook Publishers, (4) Continuous Learners.

Universities

Using contacts co-proposer Dr. Zagros has build over two decades crusading for improvements in higher education we were able to present the product to University  professors and administrators and came away with the following requested features:

Professors 

  • An  interface that allows them to "fine tune" the exams including selecting  concepts, difficulty levels, number of questions and test duration. 
  • The ability to have some discretion on which corpuses are the sources of questions - "this will usually be selecting the text book" 
  • Professors and PhD Students welcome the new markets created by being able to certify a course they teach or tutor themselves.   
  • Integration with Canvas

Administrators

  • See  high value to them for using the product if we can provide metrics across classes, learning material and teachers of a course. Metrics across teachers is seen as of “very high” value and might extend not only within a single university system but across state or regional university systems. 
  • Would like to see thought put into governance, especially support for collective decision making on content. 
  • The ability to communicate with certificate holders after they leave the university - this could be on a voluntary basis. The interest in both the ability to track the effectiveness of courses in the real world and the ability to fundraise.
  • Integration with Canvas

Schools 

After reaching out to schools and program managers for special education programs including initiatives in New York to teach children whose parents are undergoing rehab and education initiatives in rural northern Texas where access to education resources is inadequate and is being addressed by state funded initiatives. We also approached the Chicago Public Schools which has 25,000 employees, contains  646 schools and 329,836 students. The district’s minority enrollment is 90%. Also, 56.3% of students are economically disadvantaged.

The following feature requests and feedback was invaluable to us for determining the features that will guarantee strong adaptation in public and private schools.

  • The capability to take practice exams. This is uniquely possible using our system since the questions on each exam are unique. 
  • Focus on analytics for lifelong learning and tracking progress on an annual basis. 
  • Ability to order a framed certificate. 
  • Lifelong learners appreciate the capability of employers, organization, supervisors to add cogency to the certificate by vouching for the credential.

Summary and Analysis 

After assessing the above data points the team believes that there are several strong market segments where ICanProve would be a successful first mover or, with the right marketing, be able to quickly capture market share. 

Lessons Learned From Early Adopter

Our early adopters have shaped the current project particularly in how we implemented workflow and the admin and learner dashboards. 

The feedback informed out future direction and the features we will implement using the funds from this grant application. 

 

In order to maintain a narrow focus that optimizes marketing budget and time we have selected two markets, viz., Education (Primary)  and Enterprise (Secondary). 

 

High level strategy and rationalization; 

Education 

Education is the best fit for the team with Dr. Zagros background as both a tenured professor and having a background in education reform. Education has the following advantages. 

  • Large Total Available Market (TAM) that provides us with a significant Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM)

    18.6 million college students  

    13.5 million are in public collage  

    56.3 million K -12 students 

    4.2 million  K-12 teachers 

    825 thousand full time college and university faculty

    Formal education is approximately 7% of US GDP 

  • Highly profitable price points 
  • Multiple points of entry, viz., University, Middle School, Special Ed Schools
  • Existing tractions, Early adopters have already indicated strong interest  and multiple early adopters are willing to test the product if there is no cost or significantly discounted pricing. 
  • Sales in the Education sector will build the product brand and eventually lead to sales in the enterprise sector.
 

But the education sector also have multiple disadvantages: 

  • Cyclic funding
  • Potentially long sales cycles 
  • Need for a differentiated pricing model 

Enterprise 

The enterprise sector has advantages as we have received strong interest from companies who might already be considered early adopters. Enterprise is also the primary domain of our director of sales, Casey Jensen, former head of sales for Room.com and Regional Account Executive of Google.  We feel that while splitting our resources across two domains is a stretch, leaving existing leads on the table is also unwise. We have therefore factored in the feature requests of Enterprises when prioritizing our next phase of development. 

Product & Architecture

ICanProveIt levels the education playing field by issuing a highly respected certificate, vouched for by university educators and conforming to the highest pedagogical standards of testing which are the same standards used by the top universities. Some of the benefits include:

  • You get credit for what you know, not for where you went to school
  • Content agnostic that can create an exam on any subject so long as sufficient information is obtainable on that subject. 
  • Teachers at schools and universities can create advanced exams that measure over 200 datapoints on the students performance.  
  • Learning is comparable providing transparency needed to analyze who is the best teacher, which text books work best, and which classes (online or university) really help you get ahead, even which modality, watching you tube videos, reading blogs, taking free university courses works best for you.

ICanProveIt is an AI exam creation and digital certification platform that uses advanced technologies to issue verifiable, blockchain-based educational certificates. The platform combines AI, blockchain (Stellar), and decentralized identity (DID) to create proof-of-learning certificates that adhere to high pedagogical standards accepted universally by academic institutions.

Many of us will likely also need to re-skill but don't have the time or funds to go back to school. ICanProveIt is perfect for re-skilling. ICanProveIt normalizes learning sources and the exam questions are not generated from the leaned material but from a corpus of document curated by professional educators with the help of AI.

How It Works 

1) A corpus of material is collected and can carefully maintained by educators. Anyone can suggest material but the material has to be approved by educators to because it is the source of questions a must be accurate and up to date. 

There are many good sources of material like https://openstax.org. This material is carefully tracked by putting a hash of each version of the document on Soroban. Each question on an Exam has a reference to the hash of the document(s) used. 

2) AI generates the questions from the exam using the document in the trusted repository. 

3) an exam is proxied 

4) exam is graded by AI 

5) A certificate is issued and a hash of the document is written to Soroban. 

6) Employers, Supervisors... can verify the certificate and not counterfeit by uploading the document which we verify with agains the data on Soroban.  

 


 

Entity Description

In 2017, Tim O'Brien - an ex-Googler, started a boutique blockchain development company called FuixLabs.com, focused on building blockchain infrastructure as a pioneer in developing algorithms and tooling for the blockchain, and implemented multiple AI and GenAI applications.
