We were present at the Stellar Startup Camp that occurred at the end of March 2024.
Órizon aims to help people all over the world to have easy access to credit. The client can choose the total amount of credit that serves his needs and how much he can pay monthly. Internal calculations will be made to provide the number of payments until the total value is paid. While he is paying, every month 2 draws will occur: in the main one he will have the chance to win the total amount of credit he asked for, and in the second he can win a proportional slice that comes from the yield earnings of all people’s investments in that particular pool in the Órizon protocol. The amount of money a person can win in the second draw will be proportional to the monthly value he is investing. The bigger the investment, the bigger the amount he could win.
This product aims to attend to people anywhere in the world with internet access and funds to invest or need to: save money, store value in cryptocurrencies, protect their money from inflation and devaluation, or people who cannot prove or have legal guarantees and have a hard time accessing credit in the traditional market, and people who want more accessible investment and get rid of the manipulative and corrupt bureaucracy. All that with blockchain security and transparency, and the plus of not having your money locked up during the whole investment period: you are free to use a backed representation of your money anywhere else you want!
For that, we are leveraging Stellar Ecosystem due to its efficiency in delivering fast and very cost-effective transactions for the client. And also, because of the social focus that only Stellar has, which aligns with our product vision as well.
Órizon will fully operate in the Soroban network due to the need to deploy smart contracts to fulfill the needs of our project. Leveraging the well-settled structure we will integrate already established protocols like Ultra Stellar and others, in the future, to diversify the yield generation and protect user investments while still returning a decent amount of yield to our users. Nevertheless, our integration with Decaf, which already has integration with MoneyGram, abstracts some complexity and, in the future, we plan to integrate with other Anchors like Alfred.
Órizon represents an evolution to the traditional financial system in which we leverage the strengths of a Brazilian financial tool called consórcio which already moves almost 5% of the GDP of Brazil per year, the problems that past and potential clients see in that tool and improve it with Stellar infrastructure.
Let the community know who you are! Highlight the core team and add your LinkedIn, Twitter, Discord so we can keep up with what you are doing. Also, please add any skills and prior experience you and your team members have that uniquely positions you to set this project up for success. Why are you and/or your team set up for success to build this project.
The team’s members are Patrick Carneiro, known as Barba, and Raffaela Loffredo. We are fully committed to this project and available to work full-time on it, starting immediately, as Barba is a developer who can work on the Smart Contract side and Raffaela, on the UX/UI side at the same time. Meanwhile, we can find the perfect FrontEnd person to sew this together for us, due to a lack of knowledge from the team’s members. As we like to say: we complete each other. Barba is more rational and thinks more than twice, and Raffaela is the dreamer who thinks everything is possible (the dev goes crazy, but what can I do?). Together, we were awarded at the last Chainlink Hackathon as one of the top 20 quality projects in a worldwide competition that had over 450 projects submitted.

Hello.
I always was an entrepreneur. Since my 6 years old I always found ways to sell things and get money to buy things for me. In 2012 I started earning money from MMORPG games selling characters armor and weapons until 2014, when I joined the Brazilian army. That year I left the informal business behind. However, I finished the year as my Company's best soldier of the year. This achievement provides me an award of “Praça mais Distinta” due to the best index of effort, discipline, assiduity, and collaboration.
In 2016 I left my hometown and decided to live in São Paulo, the financial heart of Brazil. I worked with exchange and tourism as an employee for six months, then I became the owner of Bellum Exchange & Tourism, my agency. In the middle of this crazy adventure, I got back to the MMORPG games ecosystem and found a complete mess. People were scammed daily. I saw an opportunity to start a business and I took it. Barbudo PIN CODES opened its virtual doors!
Unfortunately, the pandemic started and Bellum became a problem, while Barbudo PIN CODES were getting bigger month after month. I decided to go back home, São Paulo became too expensive. Barbudo PIN CODES lasted for almost eight years. After so many years, it became too stressful and I decided to end it.
In July 2023, I decided to change my life and did a little search for things that could be my next and final profession: Business intelligence, Machine Learning, or Solidity Developer. I searched for each one and chose the last one. Three months later, in November 2023, I decided to participate in the Chainlink Constellation Hackathon and dragged Raffa with me.
It was a big challenge because I had only 3 months of programming experience and had to build something while Raffa had my back with search, documentation, pitch, and all the other stuff. So I built.
What was the result of it? Horizon!
With three months of programming experience, I materialized an awarded Top Quality Project on the Chainlink Constellation Hackathon. Only Brazilian team to be awarded. With a big stage comes big responsibilities, agree? So I engaged in the mission to help others founding the Bellum Galaxy educational community. Today I am not only doing my best here to get an opportunity with Stellar, but I am also leading six teams to the next Chainlink Hackathon. Helping with technical support, creating educational Solidity content, and helping Bellum Galaxy non-technical members overcome life challenges. This way, one day they can have the same opportunities and achieve what I did.
In January I also decided to follow the Security path and start to work as a Security Researcher doing some bug bounties, shadow, and competitive audits, but most of all learning more about protecting other people's investments.
Raffaela Loffredo
https://www.linkedin.com/in/raffaela-loffredo/ https://twitter.com/loffredods Discord: loffredo I learned VB when I was 13, but didn’t like it. At 17 web2 was starting to come to life and HTML + CSS + JavaScript was THE stack for a web designer, and that is what I learned and felt: "Wow, now I found my place!" But being a member of a conservative family, I went to Law school. Meanwhile, in my secret studies on color theory and the history of art, I found myself very happy in volunteer work, I love the exchange that is needed to make this happen! I had the opportunity to work at Rio+20, a huge environmental conference held by the United Nations. When I finished my undergrad I thought 5 years in another one, Design at this time, would be such a long time (young people, right?), so I stayed in the academy field where I met the data world. And well, data are amazing, but you know what is even better? Great-looking charts! After all, why spend time doing something that is not easy at eyes? Some other things about me: I like to talk, I have been doing origami since I was 6, I was a fencing local champion and I have a thing for anything with pistachios.
